mystic leedy

Hey, look, I appear to have developed MAD PRECOGNITIVE POWERS*.

Example A: I went to see Kate & Anna McGarrigle last night (I hadn't thought I'd be able to go, but we got off choir early, so I got to see most of it, hoorah), and at one point between songs I wondered whether they'd play "Dancer With Bruised Knees" because I'd never heard them sing it live. The next song was introduced as "an old one we've just started playing again on this tour", and was THAT VERY SONG.

Example B: Last night I had a dream about Starbucks opening in Dublin and trying to persuade someone that they were really evil and run forced labour camps (note: I do not actually think this). What did I see on [livejournal.com profile] wwhyte's phone blog this morning but a picture of ... Dublin city centre's first Starbucks.

Now, if I concentrate really hard on the lottery numbers....

*Yes, I know they're just coincidences, but humour me, right?

Oh, Wise One! How quickly will the guards catch me if and when I go postal at work?

And speaking of work, I am clearly doomed, as that Starbucks is right across the road . . .

Hmm, the veil doesn't seem to be lifting. Perhaps if you crossed my palm with silver?

Doesn't that suck, when you can tell the future but only for stupid and/or bizarre things?

I'll be in Dublin in 3 weeks!!!

JUST AS I PREDICTED!

[identity profile] pisica.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 01:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, but what book will I be reading on the plane?

[identity profile] leedy.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I need to have my palm crossed with silver again....

*crosses your palm with silver but retains the silver myself*

One that is made of paper.

I am also far-sighted!

[identity profile] pisica.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you can get glasses to cure that these days!!!

Ooh you're in Dublin - coming to meet us all, I trust?

[identity profile] socmot.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
That was the plan! I should probably add as many future visitors as I can, shouldn't I?

*adds*

Perhaps you too share my EERIE PSYCHIC POWERS?

I'm really glad I went - I managed to hear lots of my favourites, even though I missed the first fifteen minutes (oh, and was seated beside an older gent who was practically bouncing up and down with excitement and periodically tried singing along, he was a tad distracting). Well worth the crazed dash across town from Donnybrook.

I am quite glad that I left before I saw the first Starbucks, or [livejournal.com profile] wwhyte's reaction to same (NB: I heart him on most subjects, but the miraculous powers of the free market is not one).

Yay

I must admit I'm looking forward to Starbucks opening (sacrilege). O'Briens is the only other coffee shop on my route to work, and the coffee is dreadful. Maybe it's because you have to pay seperately for a vanilla syrup shot, for example, but they don't seem to have worked out that doesn't mean you want a cup half-full of it.
