Blimey, that was quick. My No Sweat runners arrived this morning, and I only ordered them last Wednesday. I have been parading around the office in them ever since they arrived to see how they fit. They're very cute, and I think the size is ok - I thought they were going to be too big until I laced them up fully, and they still feel a wee bit spacious for my smaller foot (why yes, I am lopsided) but pretty much perfect on my bigger one, which probably means that the smaller size would pinch on one foot. And my feet aren't sliding in them, or anything, in fact they're extremely comfy. I'll do a bit more walking around in them at home, but I think I'm going to keep them. Hoorah!

Yet another lovely weekend - we went down to Offaly on Saturday morning, along with B's sister who had just arrived back from the Hague. B's dad didn't actually know we were coming, and so was appropriately surprised when we turned up on the doorstep bearing birthday presents and approximately five million bottles of wine. Birthday celebrations ensued, featuring lots of yummy food and the aforementioned vino, which we then walked off with a big walk by the Shannon with the dog. Which, of course, whetted our appetite for pints of Guinness and yet more food. Ah, my kind of weekend in the country.

We headed back up to Dublin earlyish yesterday (after watching the previous day's rather excellent Dr. Who), as B's sister needed to catch a plane, and we needed to be back for Chris Corsano, Paul Flaherty, and Matt Heyner doing their drums/sax/bass thing at Lazybird, which was ABSOLUTELY AND UTTERLY FANTASTIC. Seriously. The kind of show that makes you want to run around cheering at the sheer marvellous exuberance and joy of it all. I had a big stupid grin on my face for the entire proceedings - one of those real "aha, this is why I go to hear live music" performances. I am still very cheerful as a result.
