Gah, I am rubbish at updating. RUBBISH. It's one of the (very minor) disadvantages of now working somewhere where I - gasp! - actually have work to do. Lots of it. So yet again, you're not getting my pie-by-pie account of the Electric Picnic, or my wibblings about moving house, or, er, anything much really. However, things are very good, hope they are with you too.

Oh, and those of you who haven't already been advertised at on [livejournal.com profile] stellanova's journal - go see our youngest sister in a play! It's a version of Dario Fo's Can't Pay? Won't Pay!, with the action transferred from 1970s Italy to 1980s Dublin, and it's really very funny. Worth going to for the frightening hair alone, and the sister is great in it. 8pm at the Teachers Club on Parnell Square tonight and Saturday, €12 in.

Go [personal profile] stellanova! Pity I won't get to see it. I always enjoyed that play.

It's actually our youngest sister Rachel (who as yet has not been assimilated into the world of LJ) who's in it, not [livejournal.com profile] stellanova, but yes, it's a really entertaining play.

Score minus one for my proof reading skills. Go Rachel!

I'm just going to fill in the details of your moving in, in my head. It goes something like where did we get all this stuff from, can we move in yet, aargh no don't make us wait another week, it should have taken one trip but it took 5, painting a lot and having to eat takeaway pizza for 3 days because you can't find any dishes.

I'm dead jealous. New house! Magic.

Heavens! You can SEE INTO THE FUTURE (we're still at step one, with added "how come even after we've made a big charity shop pile, we STILL have enough stuff for three houses?").

I'm looking forward to the bit when it's all done and settled, which may not be until about November....

*hollow laugh*

Good luck with that!

We discovered, when we moved ALL OUR STUFF by ourselves (crazily), between Christmas and New Year 2001 (well, OK, our builder organised us a nixer van one night for the stuff that wouldn't fit in the car - but we hauled everything else down four flights of stairs and two flights of stone steps), that our flat had in fact contained several dozen extra dimensions at whose existence we had thitherto never guessed. Seriously. The volume of stuff we took out of there than there was far greater than the volume of the flat.

If there's ever a next time, we're hiring movers.

Do you know what I would like, as a current Very Bad Updater, Crap Friend and all-round wicked person? A little tiny rundown of the last few months. I got all worked out at around the point when you had the new job and the house, zoned back in again some weeks later to discover you in an apartment in San Francisco, and remain utterly bemused.
Besides. It'll help you start updating again. Yes.

I am all about the bemusing, it seems. I have just even bemused myself by trying to operate my laptop using the mouse attached to my desktop machine (note to self: get tech people to help you set things up so that the same keyboard and mouse work for both and you can just sit there surrounded by banks of giant monitors like a space villain).

And oh, alright!
