Oof. Tired, tired, tired. We didn't go on until 11 or so, played til nearly 12, and then I had my usual post-gig adrenalin-fuelled I AM VERY AWAKE NOW CANNOT SLEEP YET MUST CHAT (due to some strange rift in the space-time continuum opening between the Point and Whelan's, I spent some of this talking with the wife of one of Mastodon and one of Tool's roadies). Said adrenalin all wore off very suddenly at around 2, whereupon I tottered home, fell into bed without removing my makeup, and woke up not enough hours later with greeny-black panda eyes. Classy.
Still, the gig went well, I think, and Patrick's set beforehand was v. good. Bit weird playing for the first time in nearly a year, and the first time ever with this lineup, but wor new lads acquitted themselves admirably, there were only a couple of wobbly moments (unsurprisingly, most of them in the thing we wrote ON MONDAY), and the crowd seemed to like it. Roll on the 16th (Galway) and 30th (Whelans again) of December....
