speak your brains!

Hello, the internet. Please tell me how to dress myself. More specifically, please tell me what shoes to wear to the rather fancy wedding I am going to on Saturday. Until yesterday, the only part of my scintillating ensemble (hem hem) that I had decided on was my mad navyish jacket that makes me look like Servalan from Blakes 7 (steady on there, Gentlemen Of A Certain Age). Then I found a plain red silk satin frock in Oasis, and yeah, I know red and navy is a bit eighties power suit, but it seems to work - result! HOWEVER. My only pair of red shoes are a rather darker shade of red than the dress and I am unsure how they will work with it. I'm thinking a metallic shoe colour might work, but OTOH both the dress and the jacket are quite sheeny, if not actually shiny, and more shine might make me look like a Christmas tree ornament.

Also, I need to sew a button onto the jacket (I got it cheap because it was missing its single button). LIFE IS HARD.
