beware the f
Apr. 7th, 2006 10:04 amAh yes, you can always tell from my choir scores that it's just before a concert, because my pencil annotations go from neat little carry-ons and breath marks, maybe the odd circling of a pp or a difficult note, to HUGE GIANT SCRAWLS all over the pages - SHH!, DON'T GO FLAT HERE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! accompanied by approximately one million upward arrows, GIVE IT WELLY!, DON'T GET QUIETER!, BEWARE THE F!, WATCH!, etc., accompanied by occasional cryptic scribbles like "INSIDE" (like much of my writing, I'm sure it made sense to me when I wrote it).
Anyway, I think it should go well, provided the pitch stays ok - thanks, Poulenc, for that section where the first note is kind of difficult to pick up, and then we sing ON OUR OWN for two pages, followed by a giant orchestral chord of HA! YOU ARE A QUARTER TONE FLAT! SUCKAS!. Yeah, thanks. Though it should be easier when the concert hall is full, anyway, given its vile dead acoustic for singing in when empty. Oh, and I seem to have conquered the Mystery Note Of Death, so that's good.
Otherwise, am pretty tired from giant week of rehearsals, etc. (In a sort of bizarre confluence of housing and gig stress, I dreamt last night that I had moved into a caravan outside the NCH. With a horse. And a camel.). No plans for the weekend apart from going to stroke my chin and feel out of place for not having a beard at Autechre on Saturday and knitting club at
lazy_hoor's on Sunday. Mmmm, lazy.
Right, back to the riveting world of reorganizing software requirements documents....
